is michele bachmann and ron paul. michele bachmann, you see, she never got anywhere near high. ron paul, popular with a different group. also, he's had some ups and downs. never really that high. you can see gingrich has a big advantage there. let's move them back over here and compare newt gingrich to some of the people who had performed more like him. rick perry for one. he came along here. same level as the others, then suddenly, gigantic spike in late september, then he fell off a cliff and has not recovered since. herman cain, bubbling along, gigantic spike, back down to nothing. now, i take those back, wolf, i want to show you one last thing and this is why what's happening in the carolinas is no interesting. here is mitt romney's performance from in may. he was higher than everyone. he basically stayed higher than everyone even though now he is below newt gingrich, the question is, is this one of those spikes that we saw with the other ones and is this ready to begin the crumbling of his campaign? is this as high as he can go? that's why all the people watching these races closel
for a long time, 99 counties, pretty much the only one to make 99 counties until michele bachmann said she's done it. very busy here in this state. good news on polls. also good news on fund-raising. the candidate told me today off camera that they've had their best fund raising day ever online. this has been a campaign that has never been sort of a factor when you compare it to a lot of the other larger campaigns in terms of fund-raising, but one source telling us today that their fund-raising had been exponentially higher than this new poll information came out. but also going up in the polls, going up in fund-raising, you do become a target, and santorum certainly did today, and add a winout from the perry campaign charging among other things that mr. santorum had essentially asked for billion dollars with a "b" in earmarks during the time he was in the u.s. congress. i asked him about that. he defends it, is unapologetic about it. he said a lot were taking earmarks back at that time. a lot for santorum to think about. of course, he has to worry about not just iowa, but his path through

. up until tonight mr. sorensen had been serving as an iowa state co-chair for the michele bachmann campaign. the reason he was being introduced at a ron paul ro rally was to announce he's switching sides. >> tonight's been tough for me. i've been serving as michele bachmann's state chair over the last year. and while michele has fought tremendously for my conservative values, i believe we're at a turning point in this campaign. i believe we have an opportunity to elect a conservative, somebody who holds our values dear. i want to tell you guys i'm going to do everything the nextç few days to help in iowa and beyond and we're going to take ron paul all the way to the white house in 2012. >> the co-chair of michele bachmann's iowa campaign tonight jumping ship and saying he is supporting ron paul. shortly after making that announcement, the ron paul campaign did put out a press release saying that man you just saw speaking there, state senator kent sorensen, resigned from the bachmann campaign effective immediately. it should be noted mr. sorensen was in attendance at a michele bach
